Literacy Course

Since 2011 the teaching of Literacy to Years 3 and 4 has been organised into units of learning which incorporate 12 strands. These strands are grouped under four main headings: speaking, listening, reading and writing.

The teaching is organised into units, each of which are divided into 3 main components: narrative, plays and scripts; non-fiction; and poetry.

I will teach you these units, in the same way that your children are taught.

Numeracy Course

Since 2011 the teaching framework for Years 3 and 4 organises their numeracy teaching into 5 blocks.

The blocks include:- Counting and calculating; Number facts and relationships; Handling data and measurement; Measuring and understanding shapes; and of course, the multiplication tables.

By the end of this course you will know exactly what this all means because you will have learnt it using the exact same methods as your children are taught in school.
